I.T. PROJECT ENGINEER

MONTGOMERY, AL

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven project engineer to join our team. The project engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects within the organization, ensuring they are completed on time within scope and budget. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering expertise to internal teams, clients, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of IT systems and solutions.
• Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or roadblocks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate project documentation.
• Ensure all projects meet quality, security, and regulatory standards and align with best practices in the MSP industry.
• Assist with post-project support and troubleshooting to ensure smooth client operations after project completion.
• Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure smooth handoff of projects from the sales cycle to execution.
• Facilitate and complete new client onboarding.
• Perform annual and on-demand Risk Assessments

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in IT project engineer, systems implementation, or a similar role, ideally within an MSP environment.
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience with IT service management platforms (e.g., Datto RMM, Autotask) is a plus.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CompTIA, Fortinet, Microsoft) are preferred.
